Camden Town Carpet Cleaners Terms and Conditions

Carpet cleaning equipment and prepared living room for service terms introductionThese Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Camden Town carpet cleaners provide domestic and commercial carpet cleaning services. By making a booking, confirming an appointment, or allowing access to the property for the purpose of cleaning, the client agrees to these terms. They are designed to be fair, transparent, and practical, and they apply to all carpet cleaning services in Camden Town and to any associated services arranged at the same time, unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.

The words “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the service provider, while “you” and “your” refer to the person, company, or organisation placing the booking. These terms should be read carefully before any appointment is confirmed. If any part of this document is not understood, it is your responsibility to request clarification before the booking proceeds. The use of our services constitutes acceptance of the current version of these terms.

1. Booking Process

Professional carpet cleaning booking and inspection processBookings may be made by phone, email, online form, text message, or any other method we make available from time to time. A booking is not confirmed until we have acknowledged the request and provided an agreed date, estimated duration, and, where applicable, an estimated price. We may ask for information about the size of the area to be cleaned, fibre type, stain conditions, access arrangements, parking availability, and any special requirements so that we can allocate the appropriate equipment and time.

When making a booking, you must provide accurate and complete information. This includes the property address, contact details, access instructions, and any known issues that may affect the cleaning process, such as previous treatments, delicate fibres, odours, water damage, or the presence of pets. If the information supplied is incomplete or incorrect, we may revise the quotation, adjust the expected service time, or refuse the work if it cannot be safely or effectively completed.

Any quotation given before inspection is based on the details provided at the time of enquiry. A carpet cleaner may reassess the price on arrival if the actual condition, area size, or level of soiling differs materially from the description supplied. If the revised price is not accepted, we may cancel the appointment and charge a reasonable call-out fee where travel or preparation costs have been incurred.

We reserve the right to refuse or reschedule a booking where the site is unsafe, access is restricted, the property cannot be reached, or the required work falls outside our normal service scope. This includes, without limitation, situations involving severe contamination, structural hazards, infestation, or equipment-incompatible materials. Where possible, we will explain the reason for any refusal or change and suggest an alternative time if one is available.

Carpet cleaning service standards and treatment methods2. Services and Service Standards

We will carry out the agreed cleaning service with reasonable care and skill, using equipment and products that we consider suitable for the relevant surface and condition. Unless otherwise agreed, our service may include vacuuming, pre-treatment, stain treatment, hot water extraction, low-moisture cleaning, or other methods appropriate to the fabric and soiling. However, results can vary depending on carpet age, pile type, prior wear, existing damage, dye stability, and the nature of contamination.

We do not guarantee the complete removal of every stain, odour, mark, or defect. Some substances may be permanent or may reappear after drying due to wicking, underlying contamination, or prior incorrect cleaning attempts. Where special finishes, stain-resistant treatments, or delicate materials are involved, we may require your written confirmation that you accept the risks associated with cleaning. The same applies to any Camden Town carpet cleaning service performed on antique, handcrafted, or high-value textiles.

3. Access, Preparation, and Customer Responsibilities

You must ensure that the property is ready for cleaning at the agreed time. This includes removing fragile items, valuables, small furniture where possible, and any loose obstructions that may prevent safe access. We may move light furniture at our discretion, but we are not obliged to move heavy, fixed, or hazardous items unless this has been expressly agreed in advance. You remain responsible for protecting or removing items you consider important, sensitive, or irreplaceable.

Water, electricity, and reasonable workspace must be available for the duration of the visit. If suitable access is not provided, or if the premises are unsuitable for the use of our equipment, the appointment may be delayed, shortened, or cancelled. Any waiting time caused by access issues, parking restrictions, or delays in gaining entry may be charged at our standard rate or deducted from the time available for the work.

If you, your representative, tenant, or contractor asks us to work in an area that appears unsafe or likely to cause damage, we may decline that instruction. This includes situations where carpets are already fragile, where underlay is exposed, where there is evidence of subsurface moisture, or where cleaning may increase the risk of shrinkage, colour loss, or further deterioration.

4. Payments and Charges

All prices are stated in pounds sterling unless otherwise indicated. Quotations may be based on size, room count, access, stain severity, or a combination of factors. Any additional services requested on the day, such as extra stain treatment, upholstery work, protection treatment, or treatment of unexpected contamination, may be charged separately. Payment is due in full on completion unless we have agreed a different arrangement in writing before the appointment.

We accept the payment methods we advertise or otherwise confirm at the time of booking. Invoices must be paid by the deadline shown on the invoice, if one is issued. Where payment is late, we may charge interest and reasonable recovery costs in accordance with applicable law. We may also suspend future services until outstanding amounts are settled. Discounts, promotions, and special offers are subject to availability and may be withdrawn or amended without notice where permitted by law.

If a deposit is required, it will be specified at the time of booking. Deposits are normally non-refundable except where we cancel the appointment or where a refund is required by law. If you pay by card, bank transfer, or another electronic method, you must ensure the payment details are correct and that sufficient funds are available. We are not responsible for bank charges, exchange differences, or costs arising from errors in your payment instructions.

Late cancellation and rescheduling policy for carpet cleaning appointments5. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and No-Access Charges

You may cancel or reschedule an appointment by giving reasonable notice. Unless a different policy is stated at the time of booking, cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a charge to cover lost time, travel, and preparation. If we have reserved a time slot specifically for your booking and are unable to fill it after late cancellation, the charge may reflect a substantial proportion of the quoted fee, subject always to applicable consumer law.

If you are unavailable at the agreed time, if access is denied, or if the property is not ready for work to begin, we may treat the appointment as a late cancellation or failed visit. We may also charge for any wasted travel or waiting time. Where feasible, we will offer to rearrange the appointment, but this remains at our discretion and depends on availability.

We may cancel or postpone a booking due to staff illness, equipment failure, weather conditions, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If we do so, we will make reasonable efforts to offer a new appointment. If we are unable to reschedule within a reasonable time, any prepaid amount for the cancelled service will be refunded for the affected portion only, unless the law requires otherwise.

6. Liability and Limitations

We will take reasonable care while working on your property, but certain risks are inherent in professional cleaning. You acknowledge that carpets may already contain age-related wear, hidden staining, prior chemical damage, fibre breakdown, loose seams, colour instability, or pre-existing marks that may become visible during or after cleaning. We are not liable for defects that were present before work commenced or for issues caused by the inherent nature of the material.

Our liability for any loss or damage arising from our service is limited to the direct loss reasonably foreseeable at the time of contracting and, where permitted by law, to the amount paid or payable for the affected service. We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation. We are not responsible for indirect loss, loss of profit, business interruption, or consequential damage.

If you believe damage has occurred, you must notify us as soon as reasonably possible and in any event within a reasonable period after the service is completed. You should provide photographs and a clear description of the issue. We may inspect the area, request further information, or arrange a revisit if appropriate. No admission of liability will be made until we have had a fair opportunity to investigate the complaint.

Waste handling and compliance in a carpet cleaning service7. Waste Regulations and Disposal

We will handle waste materials created during our work in a lawful and responsible manner. This may include used cloths, disposable pads, extracted waste water, packaging, and residues removed from the carpet surface. We will not knowingly dispose of controlled waste in an unlawful way and will take reasonable steps to ensure that waste is managed in accordance with applicable environmental and waste regulations. Where specialist disposal is required, this may be charged separately if agreed in advance.

You are responsible for informing us of any hazardous substances, contamination, sharps, biological waste, or other materials that may require specialist handling. We may refuse to treat an area if it contains substances that present a health or compliance risk. If such materials are discovered during the service, we may suspend work immediately and advise you that specialist contractors or appropriate authorities may be needed before cleaning can resume.

Any items removed from the property and identified as waste remain your responsibility unless we have expressly agreed to remove them as part of the service. We may leave behind items that cannot be lawfully or safely transported, and we may charge for additional labour where waste handling goes beyond ordinary carpet cleaning operations.

8. Complaints, Rework, and Consumer Rights

If you are dissatisfied with the service, you should contact us promptly and allow us the opportunity to review the matter. In some cases, a reasonable re-clean or remedial visit may be offered at our discretion where this is practical and proportionate. Any such offer is not an admission of fault and does not remove your statutory rights. If the issue relates to a pre-existing condition, unsuitable material, or inaccurate information supplied by you, remedial work may not be available.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer legislation. If services are not provided with reasonable care and skill, or if they are not as described, you may have legal rights and remedies. However, those rights must be exercised in line with the law and within any relevant time limits.

We may keep records relating to the booking, service notes, and communications for operational and legal purposes. This may include photographs taken before, during, or after the work where necessary to document condition, scope, or completion. Such records are used only for business and compliance purposes.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect legal, operational, or service changes. The version in force at the time of your booking will normally apply to that booking unless a later change is required by law or agreed in writing. Continued use of our Camden carpet cleaners service after an update will be taken as acceptance of the revised terms for future bookings.

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as removed to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force. A failure by us to enforce any term immediately does not mean that term has been waived.

These Terms and Conditions are intended to create a clear and balanced framework for the provision of carpet cleaning services. They aim to protect both parties by setting realistic expectations about booking, payment, cancellation, service standards, liability, and waste handling.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or connected with these terms, the booking process, or the services provided will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

Camden Town Carpet Cleaners operates on the understanding that professional cleaning requires cooperation, accurate information, and fair dealing by both parties. By booking our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
